Malta wants to decriminalize cannabis
Malta, an archipelago in the center of the Mediterranean, also seems to be affected by the news and the evolution of cannabis.
Indeed, the Maltese government has expressed its intention to legalize a responsible use of cannabis by limiting possession and possible self-cultivation.
Robert Abela, Prime Minister, has committed himself to present a bill on this subject.
As the principle of decriminalization, the main objective is to stop arrests for personal use and possession of cannabis, thus limiting public spending on this subject.
It is also envisaged, and this time it is more rare, a self-cultivation of cannabis with however a regulation on the level of the quantity.
However, smoking in public will remain prohibited in order to respect the integrity of everyone.
